Celebrating More Than 50 Years of Drama in Sligo

Sligo Drama Circle is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation. It does not receive funding from any statutory organisations such as the Arts Council. Putting on a production is an expensive business for an amateur company and we rely on the generosity of individuals and the business community to allow us to mount productions and to provide local entertainment for the people of Sligo, as we have done for the past fifty years. Production costs involved in putting on a play include theatre rental, performance rights, costumes, set building, lighting design, programme printing, purchase of props. Ticket sales alone just about allows us to pay for each production, but we are constantly unsure if we can sell enough tickets to cover our costs and to pay pre-production costs for the next show. Sponsorship is essential to allow us to continue to produce work of high quality on the stage and to nurture future talent through our work with our youth theatre group. If, as an individual or as a business, you are in a position to help us out financially, we would be delighted to hear from you. We will do our best to promote your sponsorship through our theatre programme or on this website. Please contact us through our contacts page.
