Treading the Boards – Book Launch
November 18th marks the 70th anniversary of the very first Sligo Drama Circle production, when we appeared on the stage of the Town Hall for our very first performance, “Thy Dear Father” by Gerard Healy.
Now, Sligo Drama Circle is marking the occasion of our 70th Anniversary with the launch of a new book detailing the history of the group. Written and edited by Damien Quinn, the book is entitled “Treading the Boards – 70 Years of Sligo Drama Circle”.
As well as an outline of the history of Sligo Drama Circle, the book includes memories, stories, personal anecdotes as well as archival material such as posters, photos, programmes, tickets, sets and costumes.
Join us in the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Wednesday November 18th for a night of chat, dramatic nostalgia and reminiscing as we launch a book, three years in the making, marking the central role that Sligo Drama Circle has played in the social and cultural life of Sligo over the past 70 years.
